Investing in Lotus Health
Empowering consumers to better access and understand their health data
We are excited to announce our investment in Lotus Health’s latest round alongside Kleiner Perkins.
Lotus Health is an AI-powered platform that helps consumers build a deeper understanding of their healthcare information, enabling them to take more control over their personal health journey.
Today’s US healthcare system is intimidating, costly, and difficult to navigate. Consumer needs are not being met, our health system ranks last among high-income countries, and unsurprisingly we are unhealthier than ever.
At the same time, consumer wearables/devices (e.g. Oura, Levels, Whoop, Eight Sleep) are directly providing consumers with health data on an unprecedented scale. Additionally, legislative initiatives such as the Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement (TEFCA) are aiming to make troves of historical health data (e.g. lab work, X-rays, MRIs) long stuck behind legacy health system infrastructure, accessible to consumers.
Enter Lotus Health. Lotus pulls data from a number of disparate sources (e.g. wearables, EHR systems, insurance providers) and unifies this data into a single application allowing consumers to browse their medical history, glean health insights, prepare for doctor’s appointments, and navigate insurance coverage. Leveraging their proprietary AI, Lotus provides personalized health advice, identifies potential health risks, and proactively recommends interventions before problems arise. Simply put, Lotus is a personalized healthcare copilot in the palm of your hand.
Lotus is headed by KJ Dhaliwal, a serial Founder who previously built, scaled, and successfully sold Dil Mil (a Top 5 consumer dating app) for $50M to Social Discovery Group (on $3M raised) a few years back. A natural-born builder, KJ was inspired to build Lotus as a result of his own frustrations navigating personal health concerns at a young age (i.e. lugging around hard copies of medical reports and X-rays to various doctors’ appointments). Taking advantage of recent regulatory tailwinds (referenced above), he has assembled an experienced team of proven AI and medical experts including Zaid Nabulsi from Google’s Health AI Research team, and physician Sonny Gill from Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
We’re excited about Lotus's recent public launch (you can join the waitlist here) and even more excited to be on the journey with KJ and the team.
